Chambers of Commerce Urges ‘Business to have their Say, on Pay and Display ‘

Buncrana Chambers of Commerce invites their members to make their voices heard on Parking Management Scheme. What are the benefits, what improvements are required?

As part of the implementation of the scheme, it was outlined that there would be a regular review process.  Upon contacting the Council, the Chambers was informed that there is no set review date or guideline submission process in place yet, it is simply an ongoing activity.  However the Council did state that it would be happy to receive all suggestions, opinions and views on the implementation of the Parking Management Scheme before its meeting on 9th July.

The Buncrana Chambers of Commerce is fully supportive of the Parking Scheme as it essential to the development of Buncrana as a centre for shopping and commercial activity, where free flow of traffic, designated loading bays, and customer parking, are vital to the regeneration of the town centre. However like any such scheme, the Chambers acknowledges that improvements can always be made and as a commercial body feel they must stay involved in the process.

Paddy McLaughlin of The Chambers ‘Some suggestions have already been noted, for example, a  pay-point is required near the site of the EBS offices on Castle Ave as drivers, customers and clients are experiencing difficulties in paying for their parking.’

Therefore members and indeed all local businesses are urged make their views known. Please contact the office during business hours, Wed-Fri 9.00-1.00 and Saturday 10.00-4.00, or by email on
